This project is an application that reads paper and digital receipts with OCR to better inform customers about their purchase decision making. Using Optical Character Recognition(OCR), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Semantics Processing to process acronyms, Project Horus scans, parses, augments, and analyzes purchases from receipts. Currently, we can run accurate analytics on grocery receipts to inform customers on the healthiness and unhealthiness of their food selections based on statistics from a nutritional facts database. The logic behind the processing is easily expandable to analyze receipts from other industries, including clothing, technology, wellness, education, and business applications.
